“A top-notch place to stay, with the room cleaned daily. Smoking area, lots of shops, cafés and bars nearby, and great transport links. In former East Berlin, next door is a lovely bar open from 6pm until late with no loud music or TV, just good conversation—it's called Trauer Spiel. A gay bar but open to all. The best place to eat is Jella Jella, about a 5-minute walk. If you like raw meat, try The Bird Café nearby—they warn on the menu they won't cook meat well-done; we thought they were joking, but they weren't. The worst I've encountered in my life. You pay for it, but they tell you how they cook it: raw, as they say!”
